Over 10,000 Americans Die in First Week of 2022

Last year, over 460,000 Americans died from COVID-19. Add in the number of deaths from 2020 and it brings the total to over 823,000. So the U.S. death toll from this virus now exceeds the entire population of North Dakota. View the Reuters article.

Unfortunately, it isn't getting any better in 2022. For January 1-7, the CDC recorded 10,595 deaths from COVID. This is an average of over 1,500 people dying each day. See the chart below or view the numbers on the CDC's COVID Data Tracker website.

We encourage everyone to get vaccinated to reduce the number of deaths.  The hospitals need your help. Look at the tweet below from Penn Medicine to see how getting vaccinated helps keep you out of the hospital.
