NW Ohio Vaccine Survey

Oct 27, 2021

Great Lakes Marketing Research (GLM) conducted a survey of Northwest Ohio community members. This study was contracted by the VProject with three primary research objectives:

  1. Understand why a person has chosen not to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
  2. Learn the most powerful motivations for someone in NW Ohio to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
  3. Learn why recently vaccinated community members chose to get vaccinated.

The survey found:

  • Community members assume adults are not vaccinated due to some sort of distrust. Whether it be with the vaccine, FDA approval process, media, or health care system in general.
  • The survey respondents believe that protecting a person's family and loved ones is the most powerful motivation for someone to be vaccinated.
  • Doctors are considered to be trustworthy sources of information.
  • Unvaccinated community members want further research from the FDA before receiving the vaccine, however, over a quarter (28%) say they will not receive the vaccine regardless of what happens.
